LOST Thoughts (and video): Sawyer Nickname Origin #22

As Sawyer and Kate are waiting for Sayid and Boone’s bottle rockets to go off ( the later’s actually launched by Shannon ), she is comparing how much of a “better” man Jack is than Sawyer. This is when he lets loose the fact that how it’s a shame we’ll truly never know all the virtues of “St. Jack” since he’s trapped (and assumed dead) in a cave-in.

saint (according to dictionary.com )

Now, I’m assuming that Sawyer was refering to definition # 2 of someone of great “virtue” … someone who is “good”. (However, Jack has experienced a miracle, as have other Losties, and I suspect many more folks will before this tale is done.)
But as we know, “good” is an interesting term on the Island.

Kate tells Jack she can never be as “good” as him and to Sawyer/”Wayne” (her father) that she can never be “good” because of her paternity.

Sawyer tells Charlie , after he asks how Sawyer came up with the plan to take the guns, that he’s never done a “good” thing in his life.

Ben informs an inquisitive Mr. Dawson in the Season 2 finale ” We’re the “good guys”, Michael!” (meaning the “Others” ) .

Are those who are “good” comprising of one of the two ultimate groups that Locke tells Walt about while playing backgammon? And where does Dr. Shephard side, being “good” ? Are the people on the Island actually one big group ( The Losties, The Others, The Freighter Four) that will be fighting together, instead of each other, in the supreme showdown in Season 6 ( lovable ragtag bunch that they are? ) 😉

So are they the “good guys”? Or have they all actually playing from the dark side all along (either knowingly or unawares)?

Here’s a quick video of the Lost promo from Great Britain that was for Season One ( Zille88 on youtube). Hmmmm…. very interesting ….

Happy LOST Thought of the Day : Sawyer gets his first pair of glasses. 8)
