Thanks to LOST’s Pop Up video version of last week’s episode of ” The Lie” , we are treated to the knowledge that Ms. Hawking’s first name is Eloise. Eloise is the name of 
Daniel Faraday’s rat that he used in his experiments in The Constant (Season Four) .
Ellie is the name of the gun-toting blonde from The Island’s ” Class of ’54”, that Daniel “used” to know . Considering the “bombshell” that appeared in this week’s episode ( Charles Widmore being on the Island not just ” Jughead” 🙂 ) could this be Ms. Eloise ” Ellie” Hawking?
I’m guessing Daniel ran off to LA for 10 years, after the ” Teresa incident” occurred, probably to see his “most likely” mother, Ms.Hawking, for help. He has an possible English mother and worked at Oxford but he speaks with an American accent. Is his father American as well? Or was he ” given up” as a child, much like 
Locke was? Was he raised by a ” nice couple in Los Angeles” , similar to who Richard Malkin was referencing, trying to convince 
Claire to give up Aaron?
Ellie can be short for Eloise. It can also be an offshoot of the name ” Elizabeth”. What if another Ellie is part of Daniel’s life too? Elizabeth= Libby? Perhaps she is his sister/relative/colleague who was in LA, trying to help solve what happened to Teresa Spencer. Assuming its true, perhaps Libby’s background in the medical/psychological fields, was thought be beneficial to their quest. However, during this time. Libby’s husband David, died. Libby then chose to, in her grief, become a “lab rat”, hoping she could “see” David again. But she acquired a “touch” of what Teresa had and ended up in “Good ol’ Santa Rosa” Mental Institution i.e. 
Hurley’s home away from home.
Who knows. Maybe in the future ( or is it the past) we’ll see Daniel “fixing” Libby and then telling her she needs to get on a certain little flight to Australia. 😉
Just hitting some highlights, ABC style, of the terrific third episode of Season 5 entitled ” Jughead”.
Alpert is the “leader” of the flaming arrow people..but he is in a “chain of command” that he answers to ( Who could that be?)

Last season, we were introduced to the idea of constants. We got to see a little more of the Daniel/Desmond interaction in ” Because You Left”. And we learned that unless something has already happened in the past originally, it won’t occur ( like with Sawyer not being able to get Desmond to answer the Swan Hatch door because they’ve never met at that point in time. But for Daniel, no problem.)
Now, it seems like 
Jack and Locke might be each others constants. But as far as we know, they didn’t know each other before the crash. They might be something totally different, much like 
Ben and Widmore appear to be. I just don’t know what that is yet…lol. But one person that has been in Locke’s past all along is Richard Alpert. Looking at John’s life, we are shown that he really has never had anyone. No mother, no father, passed from foster home to foster home. So, I wonder if The Island “knowing” this, sent Richard to always be in his life… a constant, no matter what. He was at his birth. He found Locke when he was five. He tried to get him to come to his Mittlelos Science Camp as a teenager. Richard has always “been there” for John.
Watching ” The Lie”, I quickly recognized the song playing in the background while was in the convenience store (“Dream Police” by Cheap Trick) . It triggered a memory from my preteen years. A friend of mine got the album for a birthday gift and would play it ” on a loop” every time I was over. And I also recalled how the song used to creep me out a little. 🙂 But then, I started remembering some little things about the band itself.
Rick Nielsen , the lead guitarist, had an affinity for black and white checkerboard pattern. He even had his guitar painted checkerboard. Of course, with LOST, the ” dark /light” theme came to mind. But so did rock star Charlie’s vans (sneakers) that had the same design.
However, an even more interesting connection came to mind. I recalled that one of the band members had a very unusual name. It was the drummer. Bun E. Carlos. Bun E……bunny. That’s right. Bunny.
And what is it about? It’s about bunnies, of course!
I think I’ve made my point. 😉

THE LIE
Starts out on The Searcher (Penny’s boat) with the Oceanic 6, 
Frank, Desmond and Penny crafting ” The Lie”.
Hurley is the only hold out. He’s hoping
Sayid won’t follow the rest of them.
Sayid joins in. Hurley tells him that if he ever needs help later in life, Sayid can pretty much forget it.
Sayid and Hurley on the run. Sayid is in a coma. Cops are chasing them ( Or are they?)
Hurley’s pulled over …by ANA LUCIA!!
” Ana” asked Hurley ” What if I were real?” Tells him “he has work to do” . Oh, and that Libby says “Hi!” (Ana spoke a lot like ‘ Dave”… who spoke a lot like Hurley.)
Hugo turns around… no police cars. ( Did that even happen?)
Back on the Island …
Daniel = Dr. Wizard. Miles corrects James ” That’s Mr. Wizard” . To which, Sawyer tells him to Shut up!” ( Sawyer is as equally confused about time travel as I am. Keep remembering that ” It’s About Bunnies” and you’ll be fine. 🙂 )
Off Island again...
Hurley enters convenience store, buys ” I heart My Shih tzu” t-shirt.
Cheap Trick’s “Dream Police” is playing in the background.
Girl behind counter recognizes Hurley as the lottery winner/plane crash guy, despite the “murder suspect” news report playing on the television behind her.
Unconscious Sayid and Hurley pull out of the parking lot. 
Kate and Aaron drive in.
Kate on the run again. Aaron wants to go home.
Kate calls Jack for help …well, almost.
Instead, Kate’s phone rings. ” I can’t believe it’s you!”
Jack and Benat a hotel. Jack is clean and sobering up.
Ben has a plaid “treasure chest” stashed away in a vent in the room. Does Ben always have a plan or WHAT?! 🙂
Ben, who just flushed Jack’s pills down the commode, answering Dr. Shephard who claims he was just about to do that too ” Yeah, I figured you were.” 😉
Ben to Jack ” Take whatever you want from this world because you’re never coming back”. Sobering thought.
David Reyes watching Expose ( Someone on the show mentions ” The Dragon Lady of Van Nyes” {?} )
Hurley with a near dead Sayid on his back ” Hey Dad. How’s it goin’?”
Cops show up at the house. Hurley hides with Sayid.
Kate goes to hotel with Aaron.
Cut to Ben at a butcher shop. Takes ticket # 342
The female butcher knows him. Her name is Jill. She chopping meat with a cleaver. (Reminded me of Charlie’s dream of his butcher dad lopping off dolls’ heads, telling Charlie that he was going to be a butcher too. [Fire+Water, Season Two} )
Ben asks her to ” keep John safe” there. Locke is in a carpet van. (Note to self : When reflooring, laminate might be better choice 🙂 )
Ben’s “people” : Jill, Gabriel and Jeffery
Ben to Jill : If Locke isn’t kept safe ” Everything we’re about to do won’t matter at all”.
Cut to Island
Bernard tries to start a fire
Charlotte has a headache and was having trouble remembering her mother’s maiden name ( I’m guessing it’s one we’ve heard before)
Miles bags a boar. He’s carrying it on his back (like Hurley was just carrying Sayid) He knew it was dead for 3 hours (?) Can he “talk” to the animals too? Miles = Dr. Dolittle (?) 🙂
Frogurt complains… then gets shot with a flaming arrow in the chest.
Neil and other fellow red shirts are killed. Rest run for cover.
Three years later, back in the “real world”
Hurley tells his parents he isn’t crazy. He has a good reason for his actions.
Carmen Reyes ” Why is there a dead Pakistani on my couch?”
Kate and Aaron at mystery caller’s hotel room. It’s…
Sun!
Sun and Kate exchange pictures and pleasantries. ” It would be nice to see Aaron and Ji Yeon playing together.” (foreshadowing?)
Sun wants Kate to “take care of ” those who are “responsible” for their situation. Kate says no.
Sun tells Kate she doesn’t blame her for
Jin’s death. Implying who she does blame when her next question is ” How is Jack?” Brrrrrr.
Hurley cracks about The Lie to his mom. Carmen doesn’t understand him but she believes him.
Island time…
Sawyer steps on something with his bare feet (stepped on a dart back in Season Three, ” Stranger in a Strange Land”) His shoes are “Somewhere in Time” with his shirt.
Men with guns and military uniforms grab Sawyer and Juliet. Outfits look dated. ( Are these the same soldiers that left the army knife that Ana and Goodwin were using in ” The Other 48 Days”, Season Two?)
Back to the future
Hurley and David go see Jack for help with reviving Sayid at the hospital.
Sayid wakes and starts fighting the last people he was fighting with. Unfortunately for Jack, Sayid thinks he’s one of them. Quickly remedied, though.
Ben shows up at Hurley’s house.
(IMO) Funniest scene of the night : Hurley whipping a Hot Pocket near Ben’s head.
Ben to Hurley : ” We want the same thing…to go back to the Island.” There, he’d never have to lie again.
Hurley says ” Never” and runs out into the street, willingly getting arrested for “murder”. ( Loved Jorge’s expressions during this whole scene. )
On Island
Locke saves James and Juliet . Man, does he know his was around a blade!
Back to ” The Mainland”
Ms. Hawking and a giant pendulum making the floor with chalk , in the monastery ( Most likely, the one time residence of Desmond , as well as Brother Campbell. )
Ben makes another mysterious appearance. ( Can he “walk through walls”? Can Ben be in places that he’s not supposed to be in and/or two places at once , much like what 
Walt might be able to do? { “Special” , Season One, “Three Minutes”, Season Two} )
Ms. Hawking tells Ben he has only 70 hours to get all of them back to the Island. And if he can’t then…
” God help us all!”
And the race is officially ON! 8)
I laughed. I cried. I yelled out ” Frogurt!” twice (Once when he showed up on the Zodiac. Once when he got shot through the heart with a flaming arrow). Just … splendiferous!
I wrote 7 pages of notes ( in the dark, mind you). I don’t even know what they mean…and I LOVE IT!!! I don’t think I will be able to even attempt any theories at this point. I’m just trying to soak in what I just watched a few short hours ago. But here are some of the highlights.

Rose and Bernard lose each other then met again. Rose mentions that she was back at the church when everything “left” ( The church? Eko’s church? The Temple? Some people thought she said it was like she was back AT church. Rapture? Left Behind? Must rewatch….lol)
Camp went back in time.
Kate calls Aaron ” Goober” ( He has a little baby nickname…awww. That was very sweet.)*
Dan Norton the “lawyer” wants Kate and Aaron’s blood to prove maternity… from an unknown client.
Kate still has a picture of Jack and Aaron together.
Kate and Aaron go “on vacation” . See Kate Run.Run, Kate, Run.
Sawyer slaps Faraday. Charlotte might be next. ( ” Sassy!” )
Charlotte = Ginger
Record skipping i.e. dislodged from time (actual record skips at beginning of episode too)
Daniel seems extremely lucid now.
Is the Island or are the people moving through time?
Locke and the drug plane have a “chance” meeting. Hey, where’d all The Others go?! (The King was the only one who didn’t “leave the building” this time 🙂 )
John is shot by…ETHAN ROM!!
Purple light…turns to night.
Sun is flying to LA. Was her passport expired(?) May, 2001. (Not much of a traveler… so I don’t know how that works…lol. )
Airport detains her…. or is it Widmore… I suspect little bit of both. You scratch my back….
Widmore ” I WILL be repected!” ( Sounds like Sun’s dear ol’ dad)
Sun and Widmore’s ” common interests” ? Why killing Benjamin Linus, of course!:)
Hurley murder suspect(?) on tv.
Sayid takes Hurley for some Rainbow Drive-In chicken take out.
Hurley to Sayid: ” You know. Maybe if you ate more comfort food you wouldn’t have to go around killing people” .
Sayid was working for Ben ( sounded a little “past tense” )
Unlike “Simon Says” , when playing ” Ben Says” …do the opposite.
Sayid fights off killers ( Death by dishwasher) then is drugged with blowdarts.
Hurley is caught holding dead hitman’s gun. Now we know why he is a murder suspect ( Yeah,thanks a lot, cell phone guy! 🙂 )
Miles : Widmore took 20 years finding it ( The Island) the last time. And he knows this because…..?!
More course correction, it sounds like.
Faraday = Danny Boy
An injured John Locke ( boy, his legs sure to take a beating!) meets up with the wrinkle-free 
Richard Alpert.
Richard to Locke about getting shot by Ethan ” What goes around…”
The only way to save the Island and get the O6 to go back… is for John to die!
Light again, overgrown grounded drug plane now back in its original “perch” position, swan imploded again.
No…wait..scratch that. The Swan is now intact and “undiscovered” again.
Sawyer remembers the Swan’s “back door”. Tries to get in. Daniel doesn’t think it’s a good idea.
Daniel = Dilbert ( might be favorite nick of the night)
No, wait… because here comes “The Ghost of Christmas Future” ( A LOST first…Sawyer gives himself a nickname)
Miles: ” That chick likes me”
Charlotte’s nose is bleeding. Uh oh!
Daniel knocks on the hatch door. Desmond is inside!
Daniel to Desmond ” The rules don’t apply to you, Desmond. You’re uniquely and miraculously special” ( Quite possibly the most profound and important Bit O’ Info we received last night.)
Desmond needs to go back to Oxford to see Dan’s unknown mother ( Mrs. Hawking, perhaps?)
Desmond and Penny on their boat. Desmond tells Penny he had ” A dream… no. It was a memory” (about the Island).
And in the words of Hugo Reyes ” Never say never, dude.” Cuz it looks like you’re going back to the Island, Des.

* Update on Aaron’s nickname. I read in Jeff ” Doc” Jensen’s “Entertainment Weekly” column, that “Goober” might be a nod to the Scooby Doo “knockoff”, animated program ” Goober and the Ghostchasers”. Unlike Scooby Doo with its exposer of fraudulent frighteners, he reminds that Goober and the gang actually found “ghosts”.
Totally forgot about that show. To be honest, all I could think of was Goober and Gomer from The Andy Griffith Show. Goober was the “smart” one. 😉
In anticipation of the LOST premiere , I have started to go down the re-watch list of the 10 episodes Damon and Carlton said were important for this coming season.
In the episode ” White Rabbit” ( Season One), Boone tells Dr. Shephard ” Jack, we have to go back!” ( in reference to saving a drowning JoAnna) .
In the episode ” Deus Ex Machina” (Season One) , Boone tells Locke ” John, we have to go back! ” ( in reference to Locke losing his ability to walk and should see the doctor.)
Boone is the first major character to die in the show. Both Jack and Locke ignore Boone’s requests. What does this all mean? I’m not sure. But when Jack says “We have to go back, Kate. We have to go BACK!” …it sure means a whole lot.
LOST likes to repeat phrases, often with seemingly multiple meanings. Guess this is another one to add to ” The List” ( not Jacob’s list, though…or IS it?! 😉 )

I have been re-watching Season 4 these past couple days ( in Blu ray this time … just gorgeous *tear* ). I just finished the second disc, which had among its episodes, The Constant.
I had a small thought, remembering back to this year’s Comic-Con video with Pierre Chang ( or who could also be known as J.J. Abrams’ other “Alias” 🙂 ) . In it, Pierre was holding a crying male baby. He insistently asks someone named Laura, to take the baby(“him”) out of the room while they were filming. The person behind the video-camera, to me, sounds very much like a rather frustrated Daniel Faraday.
The year before, The Orchid film is shown at Comic-Con. Being filmed by who sounds like Richard Alpert, Edgar Halliwax (Pierre Chang) is holding a bunny that has the number 15 on it. As he is explaining on the video about the real purpose of the Orchid Station, another “Bunny Number 15” appears to have fallen from the ceiling. Panic sets in and Halliwax frantically tells his crew to get the new rabbit out of there. The rabbits can not occupy the same space or something monumentally disastrous would occur.
So, going back to the most recent video, I’m sure one reason that Pierre was calling for them to take the crying baby away is, like he said, that “they only had one shot at this!” ( I wonder why? ) But with all this “unstuck in time talk” from The Constant, speculation of the Island traveling to the past and/or future and the bunnies in the previous film…what if the baby Pierre was holding was …..Daniel Faraday?!
That Daniel Faraday, like the numbered bunnies, couldn’t occupy the same space with his baby self or something horrible, perhaps even an “incident”, would take place. And at the time, it wasn’t complete pandemonium like in the Orchid video (taped several years later) because they didn’t know how truly dreadful of an error that would be. But I suspect they found out not too long afterwards.

Sawyer and Sayid are both tending their wounds up at the caves. Sayid wasn’t going to come back to the camp because of the ” inhaler incident” (torture) . But his “Adventures in Hermithood” were cut short when he stepped in a trap and became a “house guest” of ” The French Chick” 
, Danielle Rousseau. ( All the Best Cowboys Have Daddy Issues, Season One)
I had been taking at face value for quite some time that Danielle is indeed… a French chick. But I wonder if that is true (among other things)? She may have been speaking French in the distress call but that doesn’t make her necessarily from France. I received free lesson in Esperanto through the mail but that doesn’t make me a citizen of the country of Esperia! 🙂
I have been believing that Danielle was who she said she was, especially because of her story about losing Alex. But ever since she caught Ben in her net and shot an arrow through his shoulder, her story seems to have started to unravel a little . How did she know that Ben would” lie for a very long time”. How much time did she spend with him hanging there to know that? I think she has known Ben for much longer than a chance meeting/wounding in the jungle.
According to Danielle’s story, she was also on the Island during The Purge : 16 years for her, purge happens four years later( if Horace in Locke’s vision is considered a reliable source). Is she a Hostile in disguise? Is she left over Dharma? Is she Annie? Did she spend some time in Room 23 and was given some new “old memories”? And if she is from the Island, was she one of the last people to give birth before the women/babies started dying (possibly post Purge related)? And who were/are Karl’s parents (someone who was around Alex’s age and almost certain he was an “Island Baby”)?
Another thing that stuck with me from a while back is that I’m pretty sure that Damon and Carlton were joking around ( possibly giving us a hint) that this ” French Chick” had an eastern european accent.
So, for reference, here’s is what a REAL fake French accent should sound like. 😉 Classic.

UPDATE: We’ll be recording the first show together, Saturday , January 17th on Talkshoe.
On Friday, January 16th, Heath Centazzo and I will be recording the first episode of ” The LOST Revisited Now : Season 5 with Heath and Ms. Wendy”. We’ll be discussing the Season 4 finale to get revved up for the LOST premiere extravaganza on Wednesday, January 21st (starting at 8PM EST) . We will be recording a new podcast episode the weekend after a new LOST episode is aired. (We’re looking at Fridays for recording) . Except for the first week. We will be recording two podcast episodes on Friday, January 23, to correspond with the first and second episodes of LOST . It should be a lot of fun and I’m really looking forward to it.
